Almond Crescents

1 cup shortening (half butter)
1/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. ground almonds
1 2/3 c. flour
1/4 t. salt

1 c. powdered sugar
1 t. cinnamon

Thoroughly blend the shortening/butter, sugar and ground almonds.  Sift the flour and salt together and then work the dry mixture in to the sugar mixture.

Roll dough with hands into pencil thin lengths and cut into 2 1/2″ lengths.

Bake at 325 degrees until set but not brown.  Cool while on pan. Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon together.  When cool but still slightly warm, roll in powdered sugar mixture.
